I am a second generation student that was chosen a part of the ELP. Only 40 applicants were accepted from the university community. Every Friday afternoon from February month I attended a ELP workshop !! what a journey it has been . The following quote and statement will explain in a nutshell how exhilarating and growing it is. " Networking with like-minded individuals is a great way to grow" Through this program I have been exposed to the New Hope Summit Conference hosted at UWC. Participants were from Stellenbosch ,UCT and FET colleges. Students from leadership roles attended and the theme was what problems is students experiencing and we a had to come up with solutions. This was mandated to go to the Western Cape Primer offices. I have rubbed shoulders with Parlementarians, Professors, Academics Doctorates, SRC members and also a professor of Stanford University USA ( where Amy Beihl studied). I have grown confident in knowing that networking can contribute to my skills for running a business. I have participated by voicing my opinions. I attended a Gala Evening as written in th movies. What have I learned !! Never to exclude myself. Opportunities can come through networking. Our business will grow by building up contacts.
